Dear all,
The next post will be the start of Chapter 6 - I intend to award legend points after each chapter. I have calculated LP for awards and added them to your character sheets. Feel free to spend these Legend Points. In fact I encourage you to.
There is only one restriction to spending them....... If the spending of the Legend Points means you could go to circle four, you may not actually advance to that circle. You must seek out a master to go to circle four, be it a ghostmaster or someone in the flesh. If you wish to advance to a circle that is lower than circle four, you may do so freely without the need for a master.
You may now be asking "Why?" and I will tell you now honestly why I wish to enforce this.
1.. I believe that true power for an adept starts to occur at circle four (It is when most disciplines get thread weaving) and with that power you will need to seek training from a master to advance. He/she teaches you the responsibility of advancing etc.
2.. I want you as a player to get a feeling for your character before you have to trouble yourself with thinking about finding a master to advance. In the PBeM you may be away from civilisation for long periods unable to advance otherwise (also a good reason to consider ghostmasters....)
3.. I want the relationship between adept and master to be something strong and meaningful for the characters. Even if you take a master here and there where you can.
4.. It will provide a mechanism that will keep you all advancing at roughly the same power levels if you have to wait. Already I can see in the players those that like to rush through the circles as quickly as possible and those that develop their characters a bit more before advancement.
If you want to discuss this, please email me with your concerns and questions.
Thanks
Mark
P.S. DON"T FORGET TO SPEND THEM. Currently there are a range of characters from 1st to third circle......
