The camp gets moved away from the area as Farli finishes taking the remaining eyes from the lizards. Angavorn quickly awakens under the healers ministrations wraps the burns in bandages. Maerath and Elklisee both also accept Pean and Garrott's aid willingly. You notice Elklisee also drinking one of her potions to reduce the damge.
Soon after Temorya's meal, the three have picked up somewhat. Angavorn jokes with the rest of you around the campfire and even Elklisee has moved closer to the fire to listen to the tales of the battle. Maerath is still a little quiet as he was severely wounded during the battle, and indeed, you see all three of them wince in pain as their wounds begin to stiffen.
<OOC After the nights rest, Temorya's food, recovery tests for the remainder of the night and for Angavorn, Elklisee and Maerath use one available recovery test to reduce a wound. The parties damage now stands at the following. Angavorn: 15 1 wound; Elklisee: 5; Farli: 0; Garrott: 0; Lenora: 0; Maerath: 24, 2 wounds; Rose: 0; Shalandra: 0; Temorya took no damage so needed no recovery. If you wish to do anything in the new day with recovery tests or use a potion please let me know.>
Soon after dawn and completion of your karma rituals you again set your packs and move off, following the stave that Temorya has hovering near him. Through the day you see very little apart from steep ravines, loose gravel and the occasional movement that you wisely decide to take cover from. The creatures inside the Badlands are not something you wish to antagonize if you can help it. On the odd occasion you see a brood of lightning lizards sunning themselves, though they are obviously bloated and simply watch you as you pass nearby, almost disinterested in you.
After several hours travel you begin to consider resting as the sun heads toward its highest point. The heat is almost unbearable and none of you curse the extra weight that you took in water as it is the only thing between you and exhaustion. You start the trek up from the bottom of the ravine you find yourself in, seeking a little higher ground to rest when you hear Temorya let out a small chirp of surprise.
You see that as he was focussed on chatting to Shalandra that the stave has shifted violently and now faces back toward the bottom of the ravine. To make sure that the stave is referring to the area you are currently in Temorya flies up over the ridge and returns several minutes later excited and near out of breath.
"It must be in this area!!! The stave seems to focus at the bottom of this very ravine!!!! What luck!"
You turn and head back to the bottom of the ravine fanning out, hoping to spy the entrance to the Kaer somewhere in the area. You thank Upandal for the stave for if you had only hearsay to go on you would be well past the opening by now.
Even with the stave though the entrance to the Kaer is extremely difficult to find. You search as a group for well over an hour before Temorya decides to fly high and look down at the area. He once again comes down excited and flies in an erratic manner around you close to the ground. You soon realise that he is clearing the rock as he goes and before too long you see that the ground that some of you are actually standing on appears to be part of some large door.
You stop and eat some provisions though your stomach is light. You have found the entrance to the Kaer that the Dwarf Wizard Heffgold fled. Soon you are clearing the sharp shale rock that lays on top of the great door. It takes over an hour to clear and your hearts are in your mouth as you behold the door. It's magical runes carved into the surface appear to be intact. You see marks on the door where it has obviously been assaulted and in some areas the rock is gouged deeply. Just when you think you have found the Kaer intact, Elklisee calls you over and you see on one of the deepest cuts in the rock that there is a small hole. Only roughly five inches across but it cuts directly through the door.
You look to each other. Is the Kaer still inhabited by its original dwellers... Could this hole have been too small for a full freach? Or is the Kaer beyond destroyed or haunted by the horrors that destroyed it. Regardless, you need to work out how to get in. The hole is small and the door is obviously several feet thick, 10 yards across and with no visible means of moving it.....
<Moves please>
<Site has actually been upfated!!!!! Woo Hoo!!!!!>
<Cheers>
