Upon approaching Travar Shalandra looks to everyone for a moment.
"If you need me you may find me with the Calvary guard. I am going to go spend my time with them practicing and learning what I can before we set out again. Shalamar could use the training also. I would like for us to get together every so often to keep each other updated on our progress and when we are all ready I will be here to go with you to Kratas."
{OOC I am assuming that we split up the treasure at the kear. So when ever someone has done that please let me know. At this time all I am interested in is the money.

<Sorry for the length of the post... instructions as to what we are doing next at the end of the wrap up!>
Deciding to stay and rest in the Kaer for as much time as you can before your food run out you make your way back to the entrance chamber with Garrott and Rose carrying the chest full of valuables between them.
The bag of silver and gold is counted out to show a pile of 687 silver and 85 gold. Another of the pouches is turned out and a gasp heard from all that are in the ante chamber. The pouch contains 10 perfectly cast theran orichalum coins dating well before the scourge. They are obviously well kept and the magical rich colour of the coins glint off the walls of the chamber from the light of your torches almost granting the illusion that you are out under a starlit sky.
In the last tiny pouch that Temorya turns out there are five balls of precious stones. One marble, one obsidian, one from the magma of Death's sea, one from the granite of the twilight peaks and one from the stone that was used to make the gates of Throal. Temorya informs you of each make of stone as he had studied them all in his apprenticeship. Even more surprised he finds script engraved under a glazed surface that lights when the stones are placed by flame. Each line of script spelling out a single Elementalist spell. The balls are obviously the grimoire of the elementalist who was charged with protecting the kaer. <Spells on the balls are.... Circle 1: Earth Blend, Flame Weapon, Resist Cold; Circle 2: Boil Water, Path Home, Slow Metal Weapon, Small Slayer, Stick Together; Circle 3: Fuel Flame, Lightning Bolt, Plant Feast, Repair, Snuff, Sunlight; Circle 4: Element Spear - Air, Lightning Shield, Spirit of Death's Sea.>
The Dwarven skull made from metal pleases Pean. He recognises the script immediately as that of the notations made by a Nethermancer. Indeed he too had found a grimoire of a fellow Nethermancer that had once lived within this Kaer. <Spells on the balls are.... Circle 1: Bone Dance, Detect Undead, Dry and Wet; Circle 2: Fog Ghost, Repel Animal, Shield Mist; Circle 3: Arrow of Night, Dark Messenger, Death's Head, Pack Bags, Preserve, Summon Bone Ghost; Circle 4: Animate Skeletons, Blood Servitor, Evil Eye, Spirit Servant.>
Ayoë takes a good look over the armour but cannot say that she has heard of any legends of such an item, though she admits that she is still a scholar in such things. She takes the armour so she can study it and work her troubadour magic on it to see if she can find out any further information that may help you all learn of its properties should it be magical or an item of great history.
The last item, the large leather book contains a journal penned by Heffgold himself, the dwarven mage who created the stave that Temorya has. The stave apparently was once stored with the journal as the last hundred pages are blank but a shape was cut through them to conceal the stave. Excited, you all realise that this book must be the prize that the stave was set to reveal. The front cover is made from leather and has intricate symbols that definately relate to magical spells of a discipline unfamiliar to your group are carved.
The journal starts well before Heffgold ever came to the Kaer and is an interesting read that covers his apprenticeship to a Wizard by the name of Lethnal, a T'skrang of the K'tenshin clan. His apprenticeship was long and served on a riverboat that patrolled the K'tenshin waters. He describes many days where he was too sickened by the motion of the boat to learn his lessons and thus his apprenticeship lasted a good three years. Thankful to be away from the river the dwarf headed south into the lands where the Badlands now are and happens on a village named Sveltan where he settled and worked with the people. The area he describes is completely different to the barren and rocky ravines that you traversed to make it here. He describes rich farmland fertile and well watered. Happy people that were well protected from the dangers that lay far to the east and west of them.
His journal darkens as the message of the oncoming scourge comes to his village. He recalls the fear and confusion that ruled for some time. He recounts tales of families going missing in the middle of the night as the Therans began to run slave runs so deep into Barsaive, seeking for labour to build kaers of their own before they promised to aid the Barsavian communities. Heffgold himself began his own research into the protection of the peoples in the area and his journal becomes more of a copy of this research. It covers experiments that seem insane to you involving actual minor horrors and horror constructs that had begun to appear as the magic cycle built. Of course his research needed such testing but his inexperience in there nature showed and he had to keep his successes and failures completely secret.
He recounts many journeys of his own that he undertook to further his research and you find an eyewitness account of what sounds like great dragons battling with the great stone airships of Throal over the Death's Sea. Graceful prose on the actions of the Crystal Raiders in defence of their clan and also diagrams of some of the still standing ruins of the ancient cities of Landis the human kingdoms. The great sadness comes in Heffgold's success. He claims to have crafted a spell that guarantees the safety and protection of all in its range from the Horror's. It's ability does not require the recipients to flee beneath the ground and as the Therans came to offer their design of Kaer's Heffgold implored them to follow his ideas rather than those that had enslaved them. It seems an investigation was called and the experiments that Heffgold had conducted were bought to light.
The last entry is written in a different hand and explains that Heffgold was expelled from the community under suspicion of being horror marked himself. His journal and items were all confiscated and were to be protected as an example to others that sought to follow the same path in their dealings with the horrors so they could be shown the folly of their ways.
The journal contains the completed spell description that was never used. You wonder if the kaer residients ignored what could have been their salvation or if the spell was flawed by the work of a horror affected individual that sought to bring a quick and painful victory to its masters. Regardless, this is the item you were sent to obtain. A great weapon obviously only in the defence of people from horrors if it works. The wizard Heffgold had obviously taken the stave out of the village and left it as a marker for his works to save others in future.
Elklisee takes the stave as promised and after a few days rest you prepare for the journey out of the Badlands. Todiel dies on the last day of you being in the chamber. He had refused food and drink and died silently. You cover his body in rocks as you leave. Suskin and Shalamar left in the chamber as the old man had told Shalandra to do. You travel a day only to exit the badlands under the fine lead of Kerrik and find all of the animals still near Pean's bone circle. Shalamar and Suskin also calmly sitting by the river awaiting you.
Elklisee bids you a farewell. She takes the stave that she was promised and heads out for Jerris. Kerrik leads you all back to Travar for further rest before you take up the journey to Kratas. Angavorn takes the Leather bound journal and informs you that he too will be leaving the party to carry the book to Rowan Mayfair. He needs to return to the watch and had been charged only with this task. He wishes you all well on your trip to Kratas and hopes that the item can be recovered.
<OK. Congratulations on coming this far and also for staying together as a group for so long. I suggest that your characters spend a month or so in Travar. This will give you the opportunities to.... find masters for those who are looking to hit fourth circle, develop contacts in the closest major city to Bush Namur, follow up anything that you wish to do.>
<I want the next few posts to be done as individual characters. Some healthy LP awards will be on offer. If a couple of you want to do everything together then send messages to me and them. Do not send messages to the group UNLESS what you are doing is told to the whole group or involves the whole group. Make sure you post messages to me and I will reply as I have time but certainly more than twice a week. I think most of you are ready to go to fourth with maybe a couple of exceptions and I really want to build a strong master relationship.>
<What I do want posted to the group is someone to work out how the treasure will be separated. Ayoë has the armour so she can do an item history test after the required week has gone past and I am assuming that you allow Pean and Temorya the access to those grimoires. The orichalum, earth, air, silver and gold nees to be divided up. Also remember the wonderful things like ghost masters etc. that you can make use of if you have an orichalum coin so if you are thinking of going that way, make sure you get your hands on one.>
<Take as much opportunity of this time as you can. This period should be filled with some fantastic roleplaying experiences and give you an excellent feel for the city of Travar. As things draw to a close in this period (approximately three weeks hopefully) we will get back into the group posts and continue the group stories!>
<There has only been a site update to add character sheets on with LP awards. No personal notes will be made there until the group game continues again.>
<Looking forward to the posts!!!>
<Cheers>
