When things get calm and quiet, and Rose seems to be away from the group a
bit, Maerath approaches her, "Hey, could I talk to you away from the group for a
moment?"
Rose nods and follows Maerath a bit off and out of earshot while watching him
curiously
Maerath: When he is sure they are out of ear shot of the group he looks to
her, *So, about earlier when you awoke out of consciousness.
Rose looks at him "Yes?"
Maerath: *what was that all about?*
Rose: "What was what all about?" She is grinning
Maerath: *that kiss you gave me.*
Rose shrugs "Well I've been wanting to do that for awhile now"
Maerath: *You have?* he says shocked. *Why?*
Rose: "Your good looking, cute and intelligent. All attractive qualities
Maerath: *And why suddenly the kiss? Why haven't you tried talking to me?*
Rose: "I tried to get your attention not that you noticed so I decided to
shock you into noticing me."
Maerath: *Oh, well it worked. You know I do find you very attractive, and
there was a moment when I thought about pursuing that interest, but I realized
it would be best not to get involved with anyone right now.*
Rose: "Oh?"
Maerath: *Well, it could only distract us. If these were different
circumstances things might work but there's too much at risk...too much to distract us
fro whats important. Besides we both dont even know who we really are yet.*
Rose: She looks at him And raises a brow slightly then kisses him
Maerath: He hesitates and starts to pull away but then falls into the kisr
for a bit. After a slight while he pulls away,*See what I
Rose: "I see nothing but your fear"
Maerath: mean? This could cause disaster for the whole group.*
Rose: "Only your fear will do that. I may not know my history to recite it,
but I knw myself"
Maerath:: I fear that it is neither the time or place to get romantically
involved*
Rose: "Maerath. Why do you sat rhat?"
Maerath: "Well, for one because we're on a quest...and things could get
dangerous, and being involved would only be distracting. For example, we could be
not paying attention to what is going on and everyone could get attacked by a
creature or something. Being focused on each other takes away our focus."
Rose: "So. Your eaily diatracted?"
Maerath: "No, I just can see that happening. Don't you think it would put
everyone else at risk?"
Rose: "No"
Maerath: "How wouldn't it?"
Rose: "Your assuming"
Maerath: "Take a look at the facts. Already we have had many things happen
to us even with us being focused. Imagine that for one minute we were
distracted. If bad things can happen when we're expecting them, and ARE paying
attention, what would or COULD happen if we weren't?"
Rose: "I have yet to not focus."
Maerath: "And what happens when the time comes when you are not focused?
What happens when a mistake is made and you have to look back and regret?""It
seems to me like this is all just a girlish dream that is taking over the warrior
in you Rose."
Rose: "Maerath you can come up with argments but I think it is far wiseer
than simply trying to ignore each other." She scowls at him "Girlish dream. I'm
really tempted to just hit you no."
Maerath: "Rose, please don't take it the wrong way. Part of me is looking to
see if you really do feel the way you say you do, or if it is all just an
illusion. Another part of me really does feel that it would cause more harm than
good. When you woke up and kissed me, I couldn't figure out which I was more
happy about the fact that you had kissed me or the fact that you were ok. My
heart sank when I saw you bleeding and unconscious, especially after seeing
that Shalandra was obviously dead. I have an attraction towards you, and for
some reason I feel that attraction growing even though we have not spent much
time together like this."
Rose: "Maerath if you nearly died what would you want to do when you woke?"
Maerath: "Even right now I cannot help but just want to kiss you, but I am
afraid. I'm afraid that the next time you're laying down wounded it won't be
unconscious, it'll be worse, and it'll all be because we weren't focused on our
quest but rather on something else. I suppose whatever I was too afraid to do
before. I would take the chance no matter what the risk, because I already
risked losing the chance because of death. And the risk of not having things
work out would be better than not having the risk to begin with..."
Rose: "That is why I kissed you. I'm not sure of emotions but I want to find
out. Life is for living. You have to take a few chances and risk a few bruises
and scars along life's path."
Maerath: "Let me ask you something then: Do you think that being involved
with one another could make us stronger?"
Rose: "It won't make us weaker and we'll know each other far better no matter
how things turn out."
Maerath: "And if you decided at some point I wasn't what you wanted, then
what? We're here in a group...I'm sure one of us would not be able to be around
the other person should a relationship go stale."
Rose: "I'm an adult. I could handle it and I think you could as well.
Especially as if it went stael it would be because we simply have no intrest in each
other any longer."
Maerath: "And are you sure you're interested in me?"
Rose: "Quite sure. I wouldn't have wanted to kiss you otherwise or chanced
the kiss. Are you still arguing the point?"
Maerath: "Yes, I am." he says and then he takes Rose by the waste and then
pulls her in towards him, kissing her passionately.
