Maerath nods, "Very well then. I will tell what it is you had told me
earlier. Please let me know if I am mistaken at any point."
Maerath takes a deep breath, "Ok. From what the Corinthian has told me, the
two of us had met in Kratas. He was looking for a lone guard to accompany him
to Travar. I had apparently returned from somewhere near the Blood Wood in
search of some great myth. I had found tales of legend of a great tradgedy
that I could avert with the right items. I also claimed that I had spoken to a
Great Wyrm and he had told me about the items I sought.
"I'm starting to go off track. Let's see. Corinthian, you said that we came
across a Wyvern who had come out of his nest right? You said you cowered in
fear, but that I managed to strike the beast many times with my two-handed
sword and that I striked the creatures chest and pierced it's heart.
"After not speaking for a day because you were in shock, we started talking
again and we discussed a plan to give me the connections I needed to find the
items I was searching for, and I would help Corinthian enter into the society
he had always wanted to be a part of.
"Corinthian was to be the would be magistrate's champion. But after what had
happened with the Wyvern, Corinthian decided it would be best that I be the
champion.
"Now, apparently at the time I was known as Alaric Sendelfain. However, there
were many that would see Alaric dead, especially members of the Keys of
Death. It was because of this name that we decided I would go by the name of
Rhys Fellblade.
"This magistrate to be did not know Rhys Fellblade, so when we got to Travar
we separated. Corinthian worked the streets increasing my notoriety and soon
the would be magistrate signed me as his champion for the up and coming
Founding.
"I did well during the first two weeks and progressed quickly. I introduced
Corinthian into his wanted society. I was also finding out information
through a Dwarven Troubador and his wife. I had found many leads. I wanted
to follow those leads, but couldn't since I was doing so well as a champion.
This magistrate to be was looking like he was going to be the first elevated
into the position.
"During this time, however, Corinthian caught wind of assailants entering into
the city seeking Alaric. Somehow they found out about Rhys Fellblade. On the
final day of competition, Corinthian warned me. It took some convincing
because I didn't want to leave, but those who sought after me were members of
the Keys of Death. So I left Travar, I suppose to run away as well as to
follow the leads I had been given by the Troubador and his wife.
"The next morning I was gone. But there was a problem. Along with Rhys
Fellblade missing, so too were the Magistrate who would be, as well as the
Dwarven Troubador's wife. The Troubador's wife was found in my bed chambers,
her heart pierced by a blade which looked very much like one I had carried.
"The magistrate who would be was found laying in his entrance hall...beheaded
from one quick blow.
"When I left, I had told the Corinthian that I would come back and Alaric and
the Corinthian would play out the final parts of their journey, using the
items that I would find to save that great tragedy I had found out about.
"All this had happened five years ago, and it was believed that the Keys of
Death had made their mark on Alaric Sendelfain.
"Now, I would like to point out that I still do not remember anything.
Despite how true this sounds, I cannot find it in me to remember any of it.
So, whether it's true or not is still a mystery to me, although it does seem
like it is very true.
"Corinthian. If you really do know me, do you have any idea what may have
happened that may have caused me to lose my memory? Where did my leads have
me going? Where was it I was headed after I left Travar? What direction?
Tell me what else you know please."
"As for the rest of you, if this story holds true, then you are all in danger
of being with me. Should you decide to leave on your own and leave me to
figure things out with the Corinthian, I shall understand. You have helped me
more than you could already know, and I have hopefully found a link to the
puzzle of my past."
Maerath looks to his companions as well, awaiting their reaction to the
story.
> Maerath looks at The Corinthian as he continues, "I do not know if now is the

> Corinthian? I still do not know what to call you, or how to address that

>
> "Corinthian alone is fine. Now is as good a time as any. I believe the frenzy
> is at a low and we are all but alone in the Inn!"
