The main reason this page is here is to provide a place for those who may be interested to download a copy of the dice rolling programs I wrote in Perl so should be executible on any system that has a perl interpreter. not sure? Go to the Perl web page and find out more.. The program's source code is released under the GNU GPL, of which you can find out more here
I wrote the first one, after Gurth on the ShadowRN Mailing List wrote a program to do this in Python. Since I was learning Perl at the same time, I thought I'd do the same thing in that, so here it is:

Both this, and the following program apply the "rule of 6", where a roll of the maximum on the dice, allows a re-roll.

I then modified the program to generate rolls on 0-7 or 1-8, depending on what you wanted, after a discussion on the generall uselessness of TN 7 numbers, game & probability wise, which you can get here:

The Excellent Iridios has modified the rather wonderfull random crime fighter generator to suit the ShadowRun Version.

I also have some excerpts from The Renraku Arcology: Shutdown, available here. They are out-takes from the book, cut for space reasons. Originally from the (now defunct) Shadowland web site. I'm posting this for information. If FASA or Fanpro/Wizkids feel this is an infringement of their rights, let me know and I will take it down, I dont intend copyright infringement..
