Astran looks nervous as he asks Illyana if she's ready to go. On the
way out of the tavern, he asks the Innkeeper for the location of the
nearest wizard, or failing that, magician.
They then head in that direction, hoping that the general magicians
quarter is in the same area. Initially, he will ask the wizard if he
could trade spells, looking to get some 2nd circle ones. If the wizard
seems friendly, he will ask about Nethermancers and Horror Stalkers in
the area, professing initially a desire for Blood Charms. He will also
try and pick the wizards brains on Horrors and their capabilities.
Finally, he will ask about the usefullness to a wizard of the kind of
background knowledge Selwyn could provide (kind of a pre-sales pitch..
:-).
As they walk through the town, Astran will try and not show his
nervousness, and will also spend some of his new silver on a couple of
gifts for Illyana, bought when her back is turned, such as a red rose,
or a sweet, to surprise her with moments later. He is enjoying her
company, and tries to make sure she knows, but his mind keeps returning
to his quest..
If the meeting with the Wizard goes well, and he gets the name of a
Nethermancer, he will go to him, initially again to ask about blood
charms (he is, actually, looking for one - a Horror Fend.). In this
meeting, he will ask Illyana to accompany him, in case the Nethermancer
turns out to be of the "the only good Marked Namegiver is a Dead
Namegiver" school of thought. He will pay for the information on
Horrors and their capabilities, particularly the extent of them
regarding what they can do with a Marked individual, and how quickly
such a person becomes Corrupt, if there are any known cases of people
avoiding this and so on. He will pay the minimum, though, as he knows
he needs some amour, and the Horror fend, not to mention living costs..
He will also talk to the Nethermancer about the usefullness of the
kind of knowledge Selwyn might have.
Finally, he will approach any Horror Stalkers, and describe his
encounters in Parlainth to get them talking, and get the same
information as above. If he gets on very well with the Stalker, and
feels it wouldn't endanger Ilyana and himself, he may tell the HS that
he thinks he is Marked.. I'm guessing that he wont straight away, but
sometimes Astran acts without my permission, and does all kinds of
silliness... :-)
OOC: I would be interested in Astran acquiring the 3rd Circle Horror
Stalker Talent of Bear Mark at some point, so it would be good if he
could find out about it at some point, and have a target to aim for,
assuming its OK with you, Doug..
