"Siri, Lyra - wanna share a room?" Illyana asks, remembering only too well
that the only spot available last night was a bed in the common room. Had
it only been one night? It seemed longer. A year or so. "I know I want a
bath, a meal and some clean and dry clothes. How about you?"
"That sounds like a cruel joke after sitting up all last night. Ohh, I'd
love a nice long soak and a bed to sleep in.. Some blankets that aren't
damp from all that rain." Siri sighed, rolling her shoulder to work out a
cramp her pack was causing. "I'll gladly put coin into it."
Lyra looks up at Illyana. Sharing a room sounds good. I had paid for 4
nights when I got here. Maybe they will allow me to use that towards our
first night back. I can smell the food from here and my stomach is
growling. I know I need a bath also but I think I'll eat first."
"Eating? You mean we can do that now without being scoffed at?" Siri
grinned teasingly, just the bottom of her delicate chin and her small mouth
visible from the shadow of the cloak's hood.
Lyra then looks at Siri. "Maybe we all can talk some and try to figure out
what all happened and stuff tonight.
"What do you mean figure out all that happened? I thought everything was
pretty straight forward" Siri replied, tucking a few escaping red curls
behind her ears.
"OH. Where is Selwyn going to stay?"
"Oh, yeah... Selwyn. The person we went to find. I was thinking she would
probably want to stay with Kestrel and Nightwind, but we can ask her?"
Illyana looks towards the frail elf. "Selwyn, would you care to share a
room with us?" she says in Sperethiel. Her pronunciation is horrible, but
she has the magical knowledge of the most common words at this point.
"She's going to need to be protected. Every asshole and armpit in the city
will want her if they think that she might know about an ancient Theran
thingamajig here or some treasure there. Even if she doesn't they might
decide she does" Siri pulled her gloves on too now, sliding down her blouse
sleeves to hide most of them under pillars of soaked ivory cloth. "I
wouldn't trust anyone here to be terribly virtuous with her. This is a city
of sellouts, sellers, victims and victors. Finding some place safe for her
might be easier in Throal actually."
Selwyn looks up at the human girl, "Um...I am not quite sure what to do.
Sure though, a room with you all would be fine."
"OK, then?" Illyana walks up to the innkeeper of Loak's Legacy. "Innkeeper,
a room for 4, please, with baths and hot meals. I believe my companion..."
she indicates Lyra "has already paid for a private room for 4 days. Perhaps
that room is still available and can be shared by 4? Also, I'll need the
aid of a seemstress or a tailor, if you could direct me to such an
individual."
