"I think we should stick together" Astran announces, suddenly. "I have
some silver left in my pouch, and I will help anyone, particularly a
fellow magician"; He bows to Endok-Tuk. "who needs food and a room at
the inn. The same goes for you Selwyn. I want to talk to some of the
magicians and Adepts of Haven, and I hear that there is a powerful
wizard here - perhaps he will be able to help Selwyn adjust, and she can
find her place in this world. If I have your permission, my lady, I
will speak on your behalf to them, and see if we cannot find you proper
employment in our world. Oh. Silly me. She doesn't speak Dwarvish,
does she. Would someone translate? As for payment, I have this
suggestion - Selwyn, with the help of Lyra, could you draw up a map of
Parlainth as you knew it, with all the landmarks and buildings - such as
the town hall and magicians guild - you remember? The process of
creating the map will help you adjust to your new situation, and it will
be a valuable resource for us to use exploring, or even to sell. What
do you think all?"

As they walk towards the Inn (assuming they do :-), he falls in next to
Illyana. After a moment, speaking softly, he says;

"Things got very confused out there, so if you decide you made a
mistake, let me know, and we'll part, no hard feelings. If you still
want to be with me, then I will consider myself the luckiest wizard in
Barsaive. We haven't really had a chance to talk, have we. I have some
silver for a room, or a booth, for a private conversation, if you would
like."
