Heading back towards the gates Siri found herself dragging her feet a bit. What was on the otherside of the wall had the potential for being a lot more dangerous in her opinion than what was here in the dark and dirty streets.
She'd come to Parlainth, in truth, to die. She knew what she was doing when she took Berryblood's offer to go wander around in the damned city. But she grew too attached too quickly to few of the souls. Innocent souls that were in need of protecting, even by a ingenue such as herself.
And with Andre there everything changed. She couldn't betray the trouble he'd put himself through by diving into the chance to die with some noble notion saving another when it was her aim to die specificly. She'd have to hold to her word, that she was looking for a way to dispel the mark and actually have it done. Then face Gavin, as much as it terrified her, one last time.
With a sigh she glanced back to Selwyn, wondering if the woman had any of the same fear within her at stepping out beyond the gates. To the elf her world was over and would have to begin again with so many years passing by. For Siri, on the other hand, her world was just beginning and she had no idea where to take the first few steps at learning how to live except to just do, day to day. And breathe one breath at a time.
With a grumble to the guards wishing them a good night as she passed through the gates she took a furtive look around, waiting for someone to grab her up the moment she was sighted and shrugged into her voluminous cloak once again to hide every inch of her person. It made her look wizardly she thought, but that was a part of the idea. After all, the best place to hide from a wolf was among them.
