"Age is hard to judge, especially in another Namegiver race. Your beard
(OOC: I am assuming he has a beard... no description has surfaced that I
know of - hint, hint!) would have marked you as an Elder in the village, I
grew up. But then again, I suppose you count me as a child." Illyana
shrugs, not really concerned with being considered a child. "It is not the
years but the wisdom, that makes the Elders the leaders of a village. You
have a point in saying that we should not scrapple over insect bites. I'm
just wondering why you consider the use of karma rituals part of my
emotional life?"
She looks him straight in the eye, standing taller and prouder than ever.
"If the argument had started over the fact that I ..." Her voice falters
for a few seconds, but then she continues calmly. "If the argument had been
about Astran and myself, then I suppose you could consider it emotional.
But karma rituals are not emotional issues. They are life and death issues
to most Adepts. The difference between life and death, that is." For once
the flamboyant and temperamental swordmaster is calm, unemotional and
absolutely centered. She might as well have been about to deal a deathblow
to an opponent, but her face is drained of all emotions. "I take it you
agree with T'sunami that karma rituals attract the attention of Horrors?
Must be a Warrior thing. Never have heard of it myself before having it
thrown in my face just before. And since my first teacher was none other
than Illyadrin Sworddancer, whom I am also proud to call my grandfather, I
am quite sure he would have told me about it, if such a risk existed."
Illyana turns to look at all still in the room, one by one. "But I do
apologize to you all for loosing my temper with T'sunami. Insults were
uncalled for and I shall apologize to his face as soon as I have the right
opportunity." Somehow the calmness of her being belies the youthfulness of
her face. A core of steel, flexible yet unbreaking, is showing underneath
the fiery temper and the quicksilver tongue. "Now let's move on.
Disagreements are better suited for the inside of an alehouse, for sure,
than for the depths of Parlainth. And yes, Horrors do feel on emotions.
Especially the emotions associated with disagreement. Friendship and love,
on the other hand, has never fed a Horror."
Illyana reaches out for Astrans hand and squeezes it quickly. Then she
smiles and goes over to hug Lyra and Siri. "So let's concentrate on those
emotions. To starve off the Horrors." Her last words are almost lost in the
red tangle of Siris hair. But the calmness has not left her voice and her
stride when walking towards the two other girls was confident and
purposeful.
*** OOC: Illyadrin Sworddancer was a hero of some renown (must have been at
least legendary rank 1, but was most likely more) who fought Horrors in
Parlainth most of his adult life. I am sure he should be known to most
interested in Parlainth who have Heroes and Legends as knowledge skills,
but you'll have to refer to Doug for a ruling :) ***

"No need to call me 'master Dwarf'" Grendahl smiles, "i'm not that old. But
i know when it's time to calm down. And i don't like it when tension rise
high only because of someone's emotional life. Guess we should be very
careful now as my shouts may have led some unwanted guests into our
direction." He takes his axe into his hand.
