OOC: Sorry for the silence - started a new job this week.
Astran has kept quiet through the previous exchange, partly shocked by
the troll's words and actions, partly trying to find the right words
("Wizards are supposed to be eloquent - fool - where are your wits?"),
partly shocked by what Berryblood said about the girl and the Horror,
and partly replaying his dispelling of the ward over and over in his
mind. It shouldn't have been so easy, and yet, pull that thread here,
a pulse of energy there, and it was all so simple. Like he had help.
No. Don't think that. Good training. Thats all. Innate skill. Oh
god, if it walked through a ward and kept a woman alive for centuries
what could it do to *me*? Then leaving, relief and wondering about the
woman. Floor? Must be built above other catacoumbs. Must make it to
better structure. Where's Illyana? Is she OK?
After he struggles up from the floor and debri, and makes sure nothing
is broken, he looks around at the others, specifically Illyana, and
goes over to help her up (whether she needs it or not :-), then checks
on the woman, avoiding Berryblood's corpse.
"Hello" he says, a little shyly, and continues more gently, speaking
softly "I"m Astran. Selwyn, right? I don't speak Sperethiel, I'm
afraid. We mostly speak dwarvish these days. <how about human - do
you speak human?>. We've come to rescue you. Can you move?"
After the conversation he says "before we continue, let me see what i
can find out about this area. er. maybe someone could climb back up
and throw a rope back down? How may of us have torches or light? I
have a torch and.." (scrabbles in his belt pouch) "a couple of candles.
Oh! and some chalk!" He scribbles his Wizards Sigil on the wall. "Now
we know where we started"
OOC: casts Astral Sense, and relays what he sees, paying particular
interest to the doors and Selwyn.
