Lyra sees that the trap is magical and therefore cannot disarm it.
Astran speaks to Berryblood, "How did you ever *find* this place?
And how do you know it is magically trapped? Have you tried it? What
does it do?"
Berryblood replies, "I'll have to tell you some other time. I just happened to notice the trap right before opening it. Not having the means to be able to disarm it, I knew I needed help."
Astran then attempts to look at the astral pattern of the elf and the door. He then begins to focus in on the door, using his will to dispel the magical energies surrounding it. After about half a minute, he stops as if the spell is complete.
