"Astran, you fool..." Illyana whispers weakly as she regains consciousness.
"You stupid, stupid fool." Silently, she cries a little, still too weak to
move. "That was so not the right choice. Never. Never again." She lifts his
head up from the ground, supporting him, as she waits for him to regain
consciousness. "Please don't die now. Not now..." Another tear drips from
her eyes down to Astrans pale face as he opens his eyes. A happy smile
lights up her face. "Astran. You stupid, stupid fool!". But the light of
her eyes belies her words. She is proud of his choice, even if she wishes
he had not made it. For a second it seems as if she is about to kiss him,
but then she realizes that they are the centre of attention and she draws
back a few inches.
*** OOC: She agrees with Berryblood in principle, but that troll just WAIT
for her to get her strength back enough to let him know what she thinks of
_his_ actions ... and here we go... ****
Hearing Berrybloods rant, she gathers her strength and gently lets go of
Astran. Then she gets up to her full height - not that she is any match for
a troll anyway - and yells at him: "You stupid oaf of a TROLL!" The use of
the Namegiver race as a swearword somehow seem appropriate in the furious
girls mouth. "You are obviously skilled at battle and very unskilled in any
sort of humane interaction!" Her eyes seem as if made from blue-green fire,
as she rants on. "If you had told us, back when I told all of you that
ghouls are poisoneous, that you had an antidote in your pack, then we could
have taken advantage of your kind offer." She makes certain he knows she is
being very sarcastic as to the kindness of his offer. "But you kept your
big, stupid mouth shut, right? What a bigshot! What a jackass!" Her rural
upbringing is wearing through the thin veneer of good manners taught by her
long dead mother. "You smelly piece of goats breakfast! And what do you do?
Of course Astran made the wrong decision. But he damn well told you not
long ago that he is rather inexperienced. YOU, however, is not excused by
inexperience. And knowing that ghouls are poisoneous, what did you do?
Choose the side of the battle with all the cadavermen, which seems like the
WRONG place for a person with the brains of a pig and the toughness of a
tree. Leave the poisoneous critters to the humans, the elves and the
t'skrang. We all know that they are VERY good at resisting poison by
themselves, right?" By now her sarcasm could carve holes in his hide, if he
was unarmored. "Yeah, really good leadership qualities! However you
survived past your first teachings is beyond me, but hey, you are big and
brawny. Must be good for something!"
She turns away from the troll and returns her attention to Astran. "You
sweet, stupid man. Never, ever do that again." The smile in her eyes tell
beyond words that she is grateful, but she tries to make sure he
understands that she means it.
Turning back towards the troll, she says: "And what sort of a hero are you,
anyway? Yes, it is very likely that casting raw magic - in Parlainth of all
places!" She looks sternly at Astran. "... has marked Astran. But he at
least was trying to do the only thing he knew how to. To help. It was not
the right decision - and I'm sure he knows that by now. But hey, I'm not
going to tell him not to try to save me. Well..." She looks at Astran.
"Actually, I am. It is never the right decision to cast raw magic in a
place so obviously tainted as Parlainth. Don't do it. If it means life or
death, still don't do it. Please." She looks at him very sincerely, no
laughter in her eyes. "Promise me."

Illyana moves slowly and obviously painfully, but is determined to stay
conscious and fight on. Defiantly, she raises both swords and lash out at
the ghoul in front of her. Her swords strike unerringly and she smiles, but
the smile does not reach her eyes. She just winces and whimper a little as
the poison burn through her body one more time, only heard by T'sunami and
Lyra. Beads of sweat are on her forehead. Her golden hair is already matted
with sweat and dust, clinging to her face and neck. She knocks the ghoul
down, and realizing that she will be unconscious within seconds, Illyana
motions for T'sunami to take her place and struggles to move back towards
the center of the group. Upon seeing Illyana move back, however, Lyra is
quick to step in not even acknowledging what Illyana was signaling to
T'sunami. Illyana almost bends over with pain, as she tries to control her
body and bring the poison to an end. She no longer has the excess of energy
and mind to keep track of others. She tries to find rest, leaning on her
swords.
Astran obviously comes to some kind of decision, and calls out "Hold on,
Illyana", as he begins a different spell. He casts his spell, drawing the
Raw Magic through his body. Kestrel and Illyana look in shock as they see
the wizard attempt to dispel the poison using himself as a conduit for the
spell. There is nothing, and luckily the wizard is unhurt.
Again Astran tries, not even thinking of the possible consequences, forcing
the spell through his body to Illyana. Immediately Astran flies as if
struck by something and falls to the ground. Kestrel and Illyana scream out
to him. Kestrel and Illyana run over to the wizard, Illyana struggling to
fight the poison. As soon as Illyana gets over to Astran she collapses on
top of him, unconscious as well from the poison. Kestrel struggles, calling
to both of them to come out of it. Telling Illyana to fight the poison that
runs through her body.
Meanwhile the battle continues. Nightwind steps in to take the wizard's
place, knocking down the ghoul before him. Siri tells Endok-Tuk to step
back as she jumps into the fray to take on the two cadaver men. Endok-Tuk
steps back trying to cast his spells. Everyone begins to fall back, leading
the undead towards the bottleneck of the passage. The dwarf is the last to
fall back, his skin taking on a bark like appearance before he begins to
come back with the rest of them. The undead have no choice but to take on
the adventures 1 on 1, and so two of the cadaver men stay back, enraged and
waiting to come in and take the place of one of their fallen.
Kestrel calls out to Trystan to come down so she can check his wound, but
he waves her off, determined to help those in need. He fires off an arrow
right into the neck of the ghoul that had poisoned Illyana, and it falls
down dead.
The t'skrang hangs back away from the ghoul, forced to take on one of the
cadaver man. Seeing the ability to use his tail attack, he quickly swings
his sword at the cadaver man and then comes up with his tail which has a
short sword attached to it. He struggles to get it swinging right, but
after a second try manages to knock the undead down with his tail.
Grendahl, Siri, T'sunami, Berryblood, Lyra, Nightwind, Endok-Tuk, and
Trystan all fight hard and strong. Grendahl, Siri, T'sunami, and Berryblood
manage to down most of the undead. Finally only one of the cadaver men is
left. Nightwind is struggling hard to destroy it. The others come in, and
then a shout comes from Berryblood "MOVE!". Lyra and Nightwind move out of
the way as the troll runs up into the air and crashes down upon the cadaver
man with multiple strikes. The undead could not even see what was hitting
him, and he falls to the ground in pieces.
You stand ready, expecting more. You look around and realize they are all
dead. You look over and see Astran and Illyana on the ground as if dead.
Kestrel has managed to pull Illyana off of the wizard, and you can see she
is struggling to get them awake. As you all start to head towards them you
see Illyana start to get up slowly.
Then Astran, as well, begins to awake as if Kestrel's encouragement had
helped both.
Berryblood is quick to ask, "What happened to you two?" Upon hearing of the
wizard's casting of raw magic his eyes grow wide. "YOU WHAT?! How could
even consider casting raw magic in a place like this! Even as a warrior I
know that it is suicide to do such a thing. It would be better to leave
your companion for dead, even if it was a spouse, or a loved one, than to
cast raw magic in an area such as this. If we all stay around you much
longer we may all be dead soon. I am sure a Horror has been made very much
aware of your presence and sure as I am a troll has marked you for his own.
"If one of you had yelled out what had happened I would have had you take
my pack. I have some poultices you could use for such a thing. Dammit. I
can't believe what you have done. How could you be so stupid? Wizard, I
suggest you get yourself far away, especially from us. You are most likely
tainted and will only be a risk to those around you know. You are damned,
all because of a spontaneous trigger of thought that you wizards are
supposed to avoid! Aren't you supposed to be smarter than this?! It is
amazing that you are even a wizard if you are pulling asinine stunts such
as the one you did. It didn't even work! Was it worth it? Was it really
worth the risk that you cost to yourself and those around you?" The troll
looks to the wizard very angrily.
<Moves please>
<Note: I will be moving on Tuesday and do not know when I will have
Internet access again. I may be able to still post on Wednesday, but it may
have to wait until Saturday at the least. I will try to let you all know,
but if you do not hear from me know that it is because we are trying to get
things set up. Sorry for the inconvenience. >
