"Ah," the warrior exclaims, his snout spreading into a smile. "Good, words
backed by thought instead of hurried emotion. Now we are getting somewhere.
Perhaps the bargaining can begin in earnest.
"It is true there are strength in numbers, but what good are allies you
barely know, with unproven loyalties and unknown bravery. How many can
truly be expected to put their lives in danger for my own. Is my own life
not enough of a loss for me to be concerned with?"
T'sunami straitens himself, pausing to shift the weight of his pack at his
back. "Since you ask, were I in your situation, I would have first
questioned the rational of having headed into the ruins alone. Then, I
would have attempted to retrieve said item by myself. If that were
impossible, I would return to Haven post haste and locate enough support to
suitably handle whatever hazard kept my solo quest from being successful. I
would seek people I could trust and compensate them for their time so they
had no reason not to abandon me should the expedition prove difficult.
"Were I to stand where you stand now, I would consider carefully the
t'skrang before me. Despite his confrontational nature, clearly he is
speaking from reason. He has no reason at this point to trust or accompany
me, yet thus far I have received the benefit of the doubt. Obviously he
believes I may have /something/ of value or may have /some/ way of earning
his trust. I clearly have two options: provide this reason to trust me or
loose a potential ally. And since my solo quest was halted by a barrier I
no not the true nature of, nor what it would take to overcome, do I want to
take that risk?"
