Adventures with the 20Gb Creative Jukebox

well, a couple of months ago I finaly went out and bought myself a Creative Jukebox (for those of you reading this outside of europe, its called a Nomad Jukebox ). I went for the relatively newly releaseed 20Gb version, since I have 15GB of MP3's that I've ripped from my CD collection. Of course, a month after I buy it, Creative announce the next version thats smaller, longer battery life, more improved do-dads etc. typical. still, I love the jukebox that I have..

most of the news on the Juebox world I get from Nomadness and its here I learned that there is a linux interface written, which can be donloaded from here: Gnomad its a Gnome interface to the functional libnjb library, which while working, would require me to write the entire interface in C, and my university days are, alas, a bit behind me now...so I didnt bother. Anyway, the Gnomad author has used this code to provide a gnome /GTK interface to the nomad, and it supports, from what little I've played with it, uploading tracks to the jukebox and modifying the playlists (about all I want to do, generally), which is cool. Underlying functionality is dependant on the libnjb author, so I look forward to more development in the future.. word to the wise though, you have to compile the lot yoursef, so if you're not 100% ok with compiling code on a linux box, wait a while, as this is very much beta s/w (hah! I sound like an expert! dont be fooled kids..:-)
