walk on air - can't you just float over the river if you fall in?" she asks
curiously.
Easily pacing the assorted mounts, Garrott looked to Ayoe and then shrugged his broad shoulders.
"I have never truly thought about it Ayoe and I cannot answer that for you, though perhaps I should try it whilst in the trading town. My experiences with large bodies of water in all my one hundred and twenty years have been merely standing on the edge and admiring the beauty of stillness, the turbulence during a storm or the life that abounds their shores. With all of my travels I have been content to merely wander or walk to where I was intending to go and on the rare occasions that one may be found I have been known to use a mount...though none as noble as Shalamar." He briefly whispered a hand across the flank of the warhorse, before returning his attention back to the conversation between the party.
"Well, Garrott, I do agree with you. I prefer the solid ground to the river. But we have spent a whole month resting and we did get word to get to Kratas as quickly as possible. So lets see what kind of payments we will have to come up with."
Inclining his head, Garrott indicated that he agreed.
"Though I hope we have time to wander and see the wares of this place, I would imagine that a better bargain could be had here than was available in Travar. However I believe that our greatest asset lies within the skills that we share as adepts, I am sure that any river going Captain would be pleased to have so many warriors, magic users and adventurers such as we providing some security for his vessel and this should be considered when we barter for out passage. Perhaps Ayoe may assist us there as people seem less inclined to sleight a Troubadour than they do an Obsidiman warrior, after all, who wishes to be remembered as a stingy pox ridden swindler in a song with great adventurers and horror slayers?" The Obsidiman seems awfully given to speaking today as the walls of the town near, more chatty than he has been in the last few days even.
"I can understand not wanting to be on water but I do agree about getting to Kratas as fast as possible. And I agree on getting some warm food and a warm bed. Not to mention a warm bath if possible." She smiles at Garrott as she follows along towards an inn.
He returns the smile warmly, before turning to listen to Temorya.
"Yes, let's be fast - I have never travelled on water," Temorya responds, "it
will be exciting. But first - I am looking forward to a good meal."
Content to be in the sun and wandering the road, a warm meal at the end of it and the company of friends, Garrott smiles and keeps walking, watching the small clouds of dust that rise from the fall of his heavy feet.
