OOC: thats never good...

Even as he falls, a part of the Nethermancers mind is analysing the
attack, and what it means for the party. When he lands, the pain is so
unbearable his vision whites out for a moment before an effort of will
forces it into focus again. The creature must be all around them, he
realised, in the floor, in the walls....oh, god it hurts.. He had no
attack spells to hand, no way to dispel the magic. The pain! There was
no way to know if the Life Circle that had proven so effective in the
past would work when the Horror surrounded them, or even if it would
hold against its power, or be brushed aside like his summoning. But
there were no other weapons to hand..Not like this! It will not end
like this! If the circle works, it would give him time, perhaps save
other members of the group. Not on your belly! Get up! Up!
Grunting with the effort, Pean, forces himself up to one knee with the
use of his staff, staring balefully, fixedly at the room, he begins the
warding chant again, his voice cracking with pain as he chants with
almost single minded determination, drawing the circle on the ground
with his own blood.

OOC: typical. "Geek the mage first"... :-)
