<Can I start by saying I have been unsuccessful in sending this through the list three times. I have now sent it to each of you through your normal emails. Please make sure you address your replies to the earthdawn_at_teaparty.net email address so replies go to all. Sorry about this - it appears that because of the length of the post or because of the attachment the mailing list is not happy with me.>
Swinging to meet the challenge you see Garrott's skin taken on a wooden hue as he marches toward the advancing lizards, hammer in hand. Elklisee moves cautiously forward and throws six daggers swiftly in succession. You see one of the advancing lizards drop and a second struck by a couple of the weapons though one is deflected by the creatures thick yellowy green skin.
Lenora draws her shortsword as she realises that by the name of these creatures her metal weapons may be as much a hinderance as a help. She looks up to see the remaining seven lizards skin light up with some form of electrical armour arcing across their body in a beautiful blue glow.
Seeing an opportunity Farli moves swiftly forward, gaining the lizards attention and stares briefly at them before calling out clearly "Leave!" To your amazement four of the creatures turn on the spot to leave. One of them being the lizard that has Elklisee's dagger still protruding from its flesh. You hear Elklisee curse Farli under her breath for turning the creature.
Rose moves forward in a vain attempt to reach the creatures, her wooden complexion already a part of her. You see Maerath move with her, his skin toughening to take on the wooden hue also.
Shalandra is the first to close with one of the creatures and brings her sword down on it. Lightning arcs up the length of the blade but Shalandra seems unaffected as she opens a gash in the beasts leathery hide.
Dropping back from Shalandra Temorya blows through his hands gently across his clothes and you see the windling's clothes billow out as air fills them in an effort to deflect any blows that are targeted at him.
Pean curses as he attempts to place a spell quickly into his spell matrix. The complicated pattern proving difficult for the time being as his trained hands draw on magical energies to quickly aid him.
Angavorn moves up to Shalandra and also strikes the creature. Lightning again arcing up the blade seems not to affect him and you feel more confident with the battle as more than half of the creatures are already fleeing or collapsed. The lizard at Angavorn's feet hisses at him as his blade opens a second cut on its back.
Garrott suddenly moves faster than you have ever seen before. Striking as a tiger would from ambush he swings the hammer down onto the creature that Shalandra and Angavorn had attacke. The hammer strikes hard but the lizard still stands. As you watch, you see the armour of lightning flare and bolts of electricity strike the great rock warrior. You see his discomfort at the electricity but note that his thick hide and blood filled pebbles seem to absorb the force of the lightning.
Elklisee runs forward and throws two more daggers at the lizard that is now fleeing. She hisses at the beast as both blades strike deep, seemingly unwilling to let her dagger be taken by this creature. The lizard suddenly stops and faces its assailant. Two bolts of lightning leap from the the beasts almost crystal like eyes. Even from a distance you feel the electricity sear through the air and almost explode on contact. You would not be surprised if it had melted Elklisee's flesh from her body. As the smoke from her skin clears you see two holes in her chest, flame still smouldering on her clothes, but she stands defiantly, although in severe pain.
At almost the same time the two lizards yet to be engaged also let loose bolts of lightning from their eyes. Both attacks striking Angavorn to the ground. The lizard that is being attacked also attempts to bite at Angavorn as the electricity drops him to the ground, dead or inconscious, you arent sure.
Shalandra lets out a scream of pain as her blade slices the lizard in half that stands before her. The lightning arcs out and strikes her skin even as it dies, scorching her skin and raising a red burn as it runs over her body.
Rose swiftly does a flip past Shalandra and the fallen Angavorn, bringing her crystal battle axe down ont another of the lizards. The blow cuts the beast, but not seriously as the lightning from its back arcs onto her own skin, burning her in a similar way to Shalandra and shocking her senses with its electrical force.
Temorya quickly weaves a thread of magical energy into his spell matrix as he dips his hand into his pouch and draws out a handful of earth.
Farli, seeing of the remaining three lizards that two are engaged, she turns her attention to the last and using the skills of the Beastmaster, dominates its senses and orders it to leave as she had done to half of its companions before. The creature turns unquestioningly to leave.
Maerath, floating off the jagged stones brings his blade down on the creature Rose had attacked. The blow is strong and you see one of the ribs of the creature protruding from the wound causing it great discomfort. The lightning from its back seems attracted to the metal shield on Maerath's arm and you smell his flesh burn, such is the force of the shock as he struggles to retain his feet as the shock hits him.
Lenora moves to her companions aid and strikes the creature again. Its skin a pattern of cuts, it still stands. The lightning strikes out again, up Lenora's blade and into her arm, shocking her but causing no permanent damage.
Pean again attempts to place his spell in the matrix. Taking a deep breath he draws again on the magic within him and finally manages to attune the matrix to its new pattern.
The lizard facing Elklisee attempts to strike at her again with the bolts of electricity from its eyes but the bolts shoot wide, not finding their target. Elklisee answers the attack by hurling a hawk hatchet at the creature and striking it dead as the blade sinks into the creatures throat.
The other lizard lets loose two bolts of energies from its eyes at close range into Maerath. The lightning sounds as an explosion as it strikes and Maerath is thrown to the ground, agian the smell of burning flesh surrounding the area. Maerath lays shocked only for an instant, but realising his vulnerability as he lays on the ground pushes his way painfully to his feet and allows room for other attackers to finish the creature.
Suddenly Garrott moves to fill the gap and though his attack strikes its body, and not its head where he had been aiming, those close to the creature are sprayed by its entrails as the force of the hammer shatters the body of the lizard. The electric armour fading away surrounds Garrott for an instant but causes no discomfort in the rock giant at all.
You all stand and survey the area. There are four lizards laying on the ground, staring at you still with their crystal like gazes, their bodies unresponsive. Angavorn also lays face down in the rocks, his back still smouldering from where the electrical attacks had found him.
