LOL - and I keep forgetting that it is not part of first ed. Sorry! Still,
rules is rules and the universe will fall apart without them!

You get the distinct impression that he is skilled in this sort of
negotiation and it may be a professional deafness he hastaken in your
attempt to get more spells.

He believes that the Books of Harrow may have been a magical trigger/trap
designed to start this corruption, or just the fact that negative emotions
can trigger tainting if held long and strong enough so it may be a check on
name givers behaviour rather than tied to a magical cycle. (You begin to
get the idea that he has some eccentric ideas on many issues)

Put together your spells by either Magic: A Manual of mystic Secrets or
Companion II. I have both and can judge what you have done accordingly as
long as you let me know which you have used.

None have come forward who have actually been blinded! It is a tale with
which people scare those at night around the fire, as well as warning them
off being close to him. If you knew him, you would know that his gaze and
manner is unsettling. But just because some do not like him does not
warrant a finger pointed and the words horror taint used. Besides, he has
many influences amongst the highest of society in Travar and few would have
the courage to risk their station - for it would need sanctioning of one of
the Magistrates before anything formal was set in place.

He points you to a seller of dried meats for bones. If you mention Stelton
you will get them for free (which you do, and you do!)
