"Faith? Prayer? Hah. Even the Passions can go mad, it seems. He may
have done all they say, and not remember, but that will not save him or
us."

"We fight those who are known to deceive - I do not lay aside my
questions for anyone. I have always wondered, yet need I remind you it
was I who housed him? For all we know, our foes may have gone ahead of
us, guised as Mearath, full well knowing his affliction, committed the
deeds they associate with him, and gone on, knowing it will delay us.
I do not doubt the man I know - but I do question, and so should we all.

"Can you? An elf's life is long, and his family are as much a living
history as an Obsidiman's, yet mine have disowned me. In my own way, I
have much in common with Mearath. I would not speak like this if he
were present, but he is not, and we must consider the situation, and be
prepared for all eventualities."

Pean smiles at this, as if to put the previous harsh words in context
"Let the sun shine on my spirit? In my Discipline, we are at best in
the dark. Fear not, Lenora - I do not abandon our friend. But this
talk of Mearath bearing other names intrigues me - did you ever mention
this name to him? Have other had similar dreams?"

OOC: Oh, its so angsty, I could be playing Vampire! :-) Great work, all!
