Maerath is at the same time in fear, anger, and hope. Fear that his new
companions, whom he has spent time with over the last few weeks, are in danger
all in part from him. Angry at the guards for their strict demands.
Hope...hope that maybe, while although the circumstances definitely aren't
pleasing, that this may be a link to the puzzle of his past. Then
again...maybe he is being mistaken for someone else and it is another dead end.

Maerath looks around, realizing that his actions may very well determine the
difference between life and death for himself and those around him. He takes
his broadsword, and slowly draws it out to place it down. Before doing so, he
holds the side of the blade and the hilt in both hands.

"I assume that this Rhys Fellblade you are referring to is me. I will submit
myself to your questionings on the condition that these companions you see
with me are not harmed. They have no business with me other than allowing me
to accompany them for some time. If you take us for questioning, I demand you
swear upon the passions of their safety before I will place my sword down
before you."

Maerath keeps an unwavering look about him as he awaits the guards' reply.
