Temorya carefully raises his top and blows a steady breath into his shirt. You watch in amusement as it takes a couple of blows before his clothing begins to billow out. A strong breeze wrapping around the Windling's body to keep him protected from attacks against him. Prepared for the worst your diminutive companion takes to the skies as you lay down in the wild grass hoping to avoid being spotted.
Temorya finds a current of air leading toward the stand of rocks and allows it to do most of the flying for him, scanning the surface of the rocks ahead for openings of any sort and any sight that may reveal where the Bandits may well be hiding. It is not long before he spots his first sign. Flying closely along the front of the rock structure Temorya sees the horizon shimmer slightly, the distance still visible as it sees the last of the dying sun. Temorya finding it strange circles carefully and returns to the same spot to see the same effect. This time he realises it is not the distance rippling, but a haze of heat washing out of one of the smallest openings in the standing rock structure.
No smoke, but certainly caused by fire. The Elementalist thinks of the various materials he knows that can cause such an effect and spots long strands of a particular grass at the base of the rocks, that when dried and concentrated will fuel a smokeless fire. Circling again and again Temorya looks for movement or for any sign of a bandit peekong from any of the covered areas that may conceal them.
Disappointed at spotting nothing further Temorya flies over the top of the stones and finds the trail that would allow entrance to what is obviously a mini cave system in the standing stones. The lowest opening is about a quarter of the way down the stone structure and a trail of sorts can be seen leading to it. Rough rocks loose on the ground amidst the grass that grows only scarcely in the area. Cursing his luck, he sees nothing strong enough to attach the rope that Kaleb had offered him to hinder any movement of the bandits.
Intrigued by the system, Temorya flies to a perch just large enough to allow him to crawl into. Hoping it connects to the system he lands and enters the tiny chamber. Crawling on all fours, some sections become a bit of a squeeze, but he travels forward, the air surrounding him causing his shirt to catch and rip on several snags.
Before too long he begins to hear a tune being hummed in the throat of a name giver below him. Not quite making out the tune as the hum shows no musical ability at all he stretches forward, hoping to be able to drag his head over a precipice just ahead of him to look down on the source of the tune. As his hand grasps at the edge of the lip, a loose piece of stone strikes his hand and rolls into the chamber below him.
Holding his breath Temorya hears every time the stone strikes the wall. Seemingly taking forever, he realises that the humming has stopped almost in the same instant. He hears a word, in a gutteral tongue that he does not understand, and then movement below him. Deciding that the time for spying is over Temorya starts retreating out of the crevice as quickly as possible. The air billowing around him that once made him feel safe, seemingly working against a fast retreat.
The crevice lights up as a brick of burning grass is flung up. The heat snatching Temorya's breath as his feet finally reach the edge, spelling freedom. Realising as he pushes out of the crevice and spreads his wings that the only thing that saved his skin from blistering is the skin of air that pushes out his clothes, he heads back to the companions that wait only a short flight away.....
<You can all assume that Temorya made it back and filled you all in on the above......>
