The invitation had come two weeks ago. An invitation to the social event of the year. It is the first time that Sara Mayfler had asked for your presence at the harvest feast. A meal to celebrate the bounty that the silk will bring the village.

It is hard to believe that only a month will pass before the merchants week celebrations will begin. Outsiders will move through the village, bringing the news of the outside world to your doorstep. Bringing great wealth to the community and also great danger.

Surprised but pleased at the invitation you draw out your best clothing for the occassion and practice your pleasantries with your neighbours and family. All jealous of the invitation but excited at the same time.

Night falls and you make the way to Sara's estate. Overlooking the centre of the village it is far enough off of the marketplace to afford privacy and the well tended gardens add to the beauty of the village. You remember children playing on the green grasses, squealing in delight at the warmth of the noonday sun, as the farmers move from enclave to enclave to tend to the spiders.

The house of Sara is lit up beautifully with candles and light quartz, highlighting the high ceilings painted with murals of the town and its inhabitants. The wooden dance floor polished to perfection and a fine band of musicians playing music that entices you to dance.

Unfortunately the night is all too short but you find yourself drawn into late night conversations regarding the preparations for the merchants and protecting the village. Noted individuals of the town paying attention to your words of advice on various issues.

During these conversations one of the house servants approaches you and asks that you attend to an audience with Sara in the library. A grand honour! Without a second thought you offer your farewell and follow the servant.

You enter a modest room lined with shelves of books ranging on various subjects. Seated at a desk in a fine silk gown is Sara Mayfler. Her long curled grey hair dripping to her shoulders above the midnight blue dress. The lines at her eyes suggesting a woman with a love of life and a gleam in her eye showing the intelligence and determination that has made Bush Namur as prosperous as it is now. Beside her stands Ferrock Bladehand, the captain of Bush Namur's defences. Well known to two of you (Shalandra and Angavorn) he nods to you and smiles at the remainder of you. His orkish grin showing the broken tusk that forms the beginning of so many of his stories of battle.

As you look around you notice another figure in the darkness who steps forward as the last of you arrive. Moving into the light you see a T'skrang with scales of azure blue, and clothing of light tans and white smile at you. Briefly alarmed you fear the intruder, but seeing Sara and Ferrock, you realise that he is known to them. The T'skrang rests against the edge of the desk and you note that the tip of his tail is covered with a golden rune, standing out amongst the deep blue scales.

"Welcome!" The figure waves his arm broadly. Pean, Angavorn, Shalandra, Kaleb and of course Temorya." He indicates each of you in turn and does not miss his naming. "I am Veltus. You have not met me before but I am a friend of Sara. I give you my thanks for your attendance this evening." The T'skrang smiles at you all and looks to Sara.

"Veltus here is an old friend that has kindly given of his services for many years to keep an eye out for interests close to our heart." Sara smiles at you all. You can clearly see that she and Veltus share a close bond, their movement and body language being very intimate.

"And it is through him that we have learned that a band of bandits that operate on our trade routes have recently acquired themselves a new set of spidersilk armours." Ferrock steps forward, uncomfortable in the presence of Veltus. "The previous years silk is already well made into dresses, cloaks, armours and ropes all throughout the kingdom. Even with the material lost last year to the scorchers we cannot account for this new supply" Ferrock looks across you all.

"We find it hard to believe that this may be occurring but the evidence does suggest that someone in the village may be selling early supplies of the harvest to the local lawless contingent." Sara gives a very concerned look and continues. "I hope only to find out what is occurring and deal with it discretely. The success of our village lays with its close knit community and strong ties to the harvest."

Veltus looks across you all "I hope that you will investigate this for us. I have chosen you for your skills and also due to the fact that I believe you to be amongst the most trustworthy amongst us. My judgement is well heeded by Sara and Ferrock has also agreed to your assistance. I am here to answer anything you need but we hope that you can deal with this indiscretion well before the merchants begin arriving and also find the ties to this bandit group. Your duties will be rewarded, as well as your discretion. So, ask away! If you accept the task put to you?" Veltus bows low to you all and rises with a confident grin.
